2020 marked the primary time Florida sided with the eventual loser of the nationwide election since 1992. In 1998, Democratic voters dominated areas of the state with a high share of racial minorities and transplanted white liberals from the northeastern United States, recognized colloquially as “snowbirds”. South Florida and the Miami metropolitan space are dominated by both racial minorities and white liberals. Because of this, the realm has persistently voted as one of the Democratic areas of the state. The Daytona Beach space is analogous demographically and the city of Orlando has a large Hispanic population, which has usually favored Democrats.
