The Court dominated that if the Legislative Yuan didn’t cross adequate amendments to Taiwanese marriage legal guidelines within two years, same-sex marriages would automatically turn into lawful in Taiwan. In a referendum question in 2018, however, voters expressed overwhelming opposition to same-sex marriage and supported the removal of content about homosexuality from main college textbooks. Nevertheless, the vote against same-sex marriage doesn’t affect the court ruling, and on 17 May 2019, Taiwan’s parliament permitted a bill legalising same-sex marriage, making it the first nation in Asia to take action. A nationwide language in Taiwan is legally outlined as “a natural language utilized by an unique people group of Taiwan and the Taiwan Sign Language”.
